The Chequers Inn is one of those seaside gems - once you’ve found it, you’re
always drawn back. Located halfway between Deal and Sandwich, on the
Ancient Highway, The Chequers offers a menu of varied and tempting dishes combined with the friendly and welcoming ambience of a good pub.
"We offer a tasty mix of South African style flavours from my homeland,
and traditional good English pub food,” says owner, Pieter van Zyl.
The Chequers has a A la Cart menu that includes fresh fish and dishes prepared
from local produce that are cooked to order. There are also platters to share
over a drink or two, and the ever-popular theme nights, which have included a
Spanish Tapas Bar, a Greek Taverna, and a Chocolate Feast!
All these can be enjoyed with a bottle of good wine, or washed down with one
of our selected beers and ciders.
